Role
Originally, the plan was for Dorian to support Umicore Shokubai in Japan. Due to the pandemic, Japan’s borders closed and Dorian moved to Seoul instead to assist different sales teams and develop long term projects.
Responsibilities
Dorian took on various tasks within the sales teams, including operational missions such as consolidating the monthly sales reports and providing support for the annual planning process. He also looked after strategic projects such as competitor observation and analysis. Furthermore, he initiated the development of a legal risk map to identify and assess the legal risks that the group’s business faced.
How he benefited
The Prince Albert Fund led Dorian to give his career a new orientation. In that sense, it opened the door that he was looking for! “It took off my lawyer label, and changed me in terms of self-organization, hard skills, and my vision in terms of my career path”, he stresses. The project also led him to immerse himself in Umicore’s market which put him in touch with the company’s employees all over the world.
